Mike Meldrum was born in Aberdeen ( yes it is true that Aberdonians wake up in the middle of the night to make sure they don’t lose any sleep) and set up The Mortgage Mine Limited in 2005. Previously he worked in the City as a senior manager in investment banking.

Mike is based in Harpenden but travels all over the UK advising and lecturing on the mortgage industry. Many resident of St Albans will hear him on Radio Verulam preaching his message that Bank’s don’t advise customers and should be treated just like the worst double glazing salesman.

The Mortgage Mine Limited was set up to provide the “right” advice and not the “easiest” advice plus it prides itself on research that is second to none. Mike says “it is vital that a client is provided with clear and accurate information so that they make an informed decision even if that means a mortgage is not the right product for them. At The Mortgage Mine Limited we are selling the “next” deal so we have to this deal perfectly”

Mike is a keen golfer and thinks he is a better chef than he actually is. One of his bad habits is regularly travelling to Aberdeen to watch his home football team. He is an avid critic of Easy Jet for making this possible
