BNI Avon & Monmouth Area Director - 3 Years on !!!
Wed 1 July 2009
Phil has now been in the role of Area Director for Avon & Monmouth for three years.
He says "Probably the best time of my life, and I have met some of the nicest people in my life ! The region is fantastic.
The last three years have been three of the most difficult as far as businesses are concerned. The media has been spreading 'doom and gloom' constantly, but what surprises me is that wherever I go in BNI Land, I am constantly being told by my members "Things are Good !!!"
What is important to me is that even if there is a 'hint of bravery' in these comments and people aren't 'doing' quite as well as they say, the support mechanism from fellow chapter members is so strong in the region, and nobody needs to feel that they are facing these challenges alone.
As far as BNI as an organisation is concerned, we have never had as many members in the region as we do at the moment, so I am delighted with the performance of all of the chapters. The Chapters are now concentrating on building the Power Teams within the Chapters, which is all important.
We are building on the strength of our Ambassador Team, and want to strengthen our Regional Director Team, so if you want to find out more, please let me know.
The new concept of lunchtime meetings is taking off, albeit slowly, so the visitors that say that they love the BNI Concept, but are unable to join due to early morning family commitments can now join at a more 'civilised' time of day. More lunchtime chapters to follow.
Monmouthshire is coming on well, with Newport having launched. It is my aim to have 6 chapters in Monmouthshire, Gwent and Newport within the next two years. If you have any contacts in these areas that you feel could benefit from being involved in a structured 'Referral' Organisation that really works, please contact Phil.
