£100m for Merseyside firms

NETWORKING group BNI has generated £100m of business across Merseyside in the last ten years, the organisation claims.

BNI stands for Business Network International and has “chapters” across the world.
The first Merseyside chapter was set up a decade ago with just six business people and now there are 30 across the city region.

Each BNI chapter holds a weekly networking session either early in the morning or at lunchtimes.

BNI commissioned research from the Murray Consultancy which estimated that, over the past decade, around £100m- worth of business had been generated through the sessions.

Terry Hamill, BNI Merseyside’s director, said: “We feel really proud to have reached the 10-year mark. Our contribution to commerce in the city has been invaluable, a staggering £100m in referrals means our work is vital and we want to grow our groups even further, and make even more of a difference as BNI Merseyside moves into the next decade.”

The first chapter – called Alpha – now has 30 members, including accountant Neil Hogan.
He said: “BNI is invaluable for my business, and I have received a lot of work referrals through the meetings.”

Neil has generated £1.6m alone from BNI in 10 years!!!
